Brits and Yanks Invade...

There is just about a month left before our big photographic workshop with Joe Cornish,Bill Schwab, Les McLean and Sandy King. This 5 day event (four full days starting on Thursday the 23rd) is being held in the Black Donald / Centennial Lake area of the Ottawa Valley and will have as its home base the White Pine Cottages and Resorts. If you've been thinking of attending now would be the time to sign-up. If you are already signed up and would like to pay off the remainder of your balance we've added a final payment field to our secure online payment form (found in the upper right-hand corner of the page).

This workshop is going to be like no other. We start with 4 great instructors with an excellent student to teacher ratio; continue on with a wide range of planned photo excursions, onsite image or film processing and printing, critiques, lectures, and finish with an exhibition and benefit auction to be held at Toronto's Hazelton Hotel on the Wednesday following the workshop. More information can be found on the workshop at www.elevatorworkshops.com as well as the special forum set-up on APUG.org.

Exhibition & Auction
The exhibition and benefit auction will be a SNAP! satellite event to benefit ACT (AIDS Committee of Toronto). SNAP! is Toronto's premier photography fundraiser created by ACT to help deliver free programs and services to people living with, affected by, and or at risk for HIV/AIDS.

Free Workshop Contest
If the cost of the workshop is more than you can swing, but you'd really like to attend, one of our attendees has offered to pay the workshop fee and room accommodation for one lucky individual. To receive consideration for this gift we need a short summary of what you'd like to learn and how it would be useful to your photographic pursuits. Send it along with some jpegs of your work to <mailto: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it > This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We will inform the lucky winner at the beginning of October.

Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures Featured in Online Article PDF Print E-mail

Topsail Island, one of the barrier islands on the North Carolina coast, is currently featuring Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures on their website. The article reads in part:

...The workshops are small, with a maximum participant/teacher ratio of 6:1, so everyone gets a lot of personal attention. Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures differs from many other photography workshops in that the participants are also taught the basics of digital printing and learn how to make prints that match what they see on their monitors. They print their images during the workshop on an Epson Professional color digital printer.

Barefoot Contessa's motto is, "Create great photos; make great prints."

Happy Canada Day!

Things are coming together for this years Farm shoot on the 19th.
I have 2 MUA, 1 stylist, and am in the process of finalizing the models. I just need to know what photographers would like to attend.

As well this month.

Thursday is the Basic Lighting Workshop
The model for this event will be Liz

Next Tuesday evening is the Evening nude model shoot  Model is Laura D

On Sunday the 13th there will be the Art of posing working with nudes. The model will be Bella B

I hope to have one or two beach shoots this month, and maybe a evening location shoot. These events are very weather dependent, so they will come up quickly. Watch the Toronto-photographers forums.

Thanks

Glenn
